Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 1617 has increased the fee for hotel licensees who wish to convert their licenses to restaurant licenses from $25,000 to $30,000. This change affects those applying for exemptions before January 1, 2019, and it is important because it raises the cost for businesses looking to adapt their licenses, which may impact their financial planning. Additionally, the revisions clarify that this process does not apply to hotel licenses in first-class cities. Overall, these adjustments aim to better regulate the license conversion process within the liquor industry.
