In the updated version of Senate Bill 424, a specific funding amount for the Department of Public Instruction has been clarified, indicating that the funding will be $1,700 for the fiscal years starting in 2021-2022 and beyond, rather than the previously stated amount of $1,250. This amendment matters because it ensures that schools receive increased funding, which can support better educational resources and programs for students in North Carolina.
