The latest version of SB 446 has made changes to the registration fees for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles in North Carolina. Specifically, the fee for registering a plug-in electric vehicle has increased from $130 to $230, while a new fee of $115 has been established for plug-in hybrid vehicles. These adjustments are significant because they now reflect the growing use of electric and hybrid vehicles on the road, helping to ensure that all vehicle owners contribute fairly to infrastructure costs.
