In the latest version of Senate Bill 566, a section specifying that fireworks display operators must secure written authority from the relevant law (G.S. 14-413) was retained, ensuring that proper permissions are obtained. While there were some initial drafts that included different details, the current version emphasizes the importance of operators following legal protocols for safety and regulatory compliance. This change matters because it reinforces accountability in fireworks operations, helping to ensure public safety during displays.
