Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to House Bill 38 removes lines of text that listed the formal reference and identification of the bill, while keeping the core content intact. This change simplifies how the bill is presented without altering its substance, making it clearer for readers. The bill still allows certain schools in Sampson and Wayne counties to operate under a modified calendar, which could provide more flexibility in scheduling for those districts. This matters for local education systems, as it allows them to tailor school calendars to better meet the needs of their communities.
