The updated version of House Bill 199 clarifies that the Department of Public Instruction must provide a detailed report by March 15 each year on the charter school transportation grant program. This report will cover aspects such as the number of charter schools receiving funds, the amount awarded, and the impact on lunch services and student transportation. The inclusion of these reporting requirements is important because it ensures transparency and accountability regarding how the grant funds are used and their effectiveness in improving transportation options for charter schools.
