Plain-language change summary

The updated version of House Bill 892 clarifies that if a public school cannot adopt a green cleaning or food service policy due to economic challenges, it must notify the Department of Public Instruction each year. The bill also simplifies how schools determine what products qualify as environmentally sensitive, making it easier for them to follow the guidelines. These changes are important because they help ensure that schools are accountable for their environmental practices while also recognizing financial constraints. This allows for a more practical implementation of green policies in schools.
