The recent amendment to House Bill 955 adds a requirement for parents to provide written permission each school year for school personnel or volunteers to administer seizure medication to their child. This change emphasizes the need for ongoing parental involvement and consent, ensuring that schools are prepared each year to manage students' medical needs effectively. By requiring updated permissions annually, the amendment aims to safeguard the health of students with seizure disorders and ensure that school staff are trained and ready to respond to their specific needs.
