Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill SB 605 established the Disaster Relief Cash Flow Loan Fund specifically for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, allowing for the transfer of $90 million from the General Fund to support cash flow needs resulting from disaster recovery. Additionally, the bill repeals a previous repayment schedule that may have complicated the funding process. This change is significant because it streamlines access to crucial resources for disaster recovery, ensuring that transportation services can respond more effectively to emergencies without facing delays due to financial constraints.
