Plain-language change summary

The amended bill SB 361 now includes provisions to increase the number of available slots in North Carolina's Innovations waiver by up to 2,000 total slots over two years, along with significant funding for this initiative. Additionally, rather than reforming the Certificate of Need laws, the bill has removed that section entirely, which means there will be no changes to those laws at this time. These changes are important because they aim to expand healthcare access for individuals who rely on this waiver while halting any changes to the existing regulations that govern healthcare facility expansions.
