Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 286 replaced references to "Chapter 160A" of the General Statutes with "Part 4 of Article 4A" of the same statutes regarding noncontiguous fire districts. This change clarifies the legal framework governing how annexed areas are treated with respect to fire services and fees. This matters because it ensures that residents in annexed areas continue to receive essential fire protection without interruption and that funding remains consistent.
