Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Senate Bill 429 focus on funding for disaster recovery efforts related to Hurricane Florence. Key changes include transferring $94 million in funds to support recovery initiatives and reallocating an additional $17 million from composting reimbursements to the same disaster recovery fund. Furthermore, $1.5 million will now be redirected to help community colleges affected by enrollment declines due to the disaster. These changes are important as they direct necessary resources to support rebuilding efforts and assist those impacted by the hurricane.
