Plain-language change summary

The changes in Senate Bill 192 clarify the funding and cap for teacher resource officers in North Carolina schools. Specifically, the bill maintains a maximum of 3,000 funded teacher resource officers statewide and ensures that funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. This matters because it helps to establish a clear framework for how many officers can be supported, which can impact school safety and resource distribution across districts.
