Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Senate Bill 154 increases the maximum allowable value of cash and non-cash prizes from $125,000 to $250,000 for nonprofit organizations or associations in a calendar year. This change is significant because it allows these organizations to potentially attract more participants and raise more funds through raffles. It also maintains the previous limit of $125,000 for cash prizes offered by candidates, political committees, or government entities, ensuring a distinction between nonprofit and political fundraising activities. Overall, these adjustments aim to support fundraising efforts for nonprofits while keeping regulations in place for political entities.
