Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to Bill HB 484 clarified the definitions of "dependent" and "military service," making them more precise in alignment with existing federal definitions. Notably, the language concerning "military order" was removed, simplifying the conditions under which certain protections apply to servicemembers and their dependents. These changes matter because they aim to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of the legal protections available to military personnel and their families, ensuring that they receive appropriate support during times of service.
