The updated version of Senate Bill 152 clarifies that any increases in out-of-pocket costs for anticancer drugs must also apply to similar medical or pharmaceutical benefits. This change is important because it ensures that patients are not burdened with higher costs for cancer treatments while comparable treatments remain unaffected. The bill aims to create fairer insurance practices for those undergoing cancer treatment, promoting better access to necessary medications.
