Plain-language change summary

The revised version of House Bill 474 includes a new clarification that the Commissioner has the authority to establish subminimum wage rates to help individuals whose employment opportunities may be limited due to various factors, such as age or disabilities. This change emphasizes the intention to support economically disadvantaged and unemployed individuals by allowing for slightly lower wage rates in specific circumstances. This matters because it aims to create more job opportunities for those who might otherwise struggle to find work, ultimately promoting inclusivity in the labor market.
