In the updated version of House Bill 1007, a new section was added regarding how motor vehicle liability policies handle property damage claims when there is a disagreement about the vehicle's fair market value. Specifically, if the difference in value estimates between the claimant and the insurer exceeds $2,000 or 25% of the vehicle's value before the accident, the policy now requires a method for determining compensation. This change is important because it aims to streamline the claims process and ensure that claimants have a clearer path to resolving disputes about vehicle damage compensation.
