Plain-language change summary

The recent changes to Senate Bill 597 involve updates to the language that clarifies the structure and roles within the Apprenticeship Council. Notably, adjustments were made in the number of employer and employee representatives appointed to the council, specifying that there will be two representatives from each sector rather than the previous three. These changes are important because they streamline the decision-making process and ensure that the council maintains a balanced representation of stakeholders in apprenticeship programs, which can enhance training opportunities in North Carolina.
