What changed in the latest version

The latest version of House Bill 656 includes the addition of a construction project for a public safety facility in Currituck County, which is intended to support the relocation of emergency services programs at the community college. Additionally, it specifies that the Board of Trustees of the College of the Albemarle can engage in contracts for facility renovations or construction with several local counties without adhering to certain state regulations, which may streamline the process. These changes matter because they aim to enhance educational and emergency services infrastructure in the region, potentially improving training opportunities and public safety resources.
