The recent amendment to House Bill 462 primarily clarifies and emphasizes the confidentiality of certain records held by the Office of the Commissioner of Banks (OCOB) in North Carolina. Specifically, it ensures that records related to examinations, audits, and customer personal information remain confidential and protected from public disclosure. This is important because it helps safeguard sensitive financial and personal data from being exposed, thereby fostering trust in financial institutions and promoting compliance with privacy standards.
