The revised version of Senate Bill 445 adds clarity to the process for individuals seeking expunctions, specifically by including a detailed description of the application requirements for a criminal record check. It emphasizes that the clerk of superior court must obtain the judge's signature before forwarding the application for processing. These changes are important because they aim to streamline the expunction process and ensure that all necessary checks are completed properly, which can help individuals clear their records more efficiently.
