The updated version of House Bill 615 includes some minor edits but retains the main provisions concerning the requirements for individuals wishing to practice as substance abuse counselors in North Carolina. The amendment specifies that no one can represent themselves as certified or licensed without proper registration, and it reinforces the prohibition for those with revoked or suspended credentials. This clarity is important because it helps protect the public by ensuring that only qualified individuals provide substance abuse counseling services.
