Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Senate Bill 228 clarifies the process for hearing challenges to voter registration and emphasizes that the county board of elections must inform the challenged voter of the qualifications for registration and voting. This ensures that voters understand their rights and the criteria they need to meet before voting. The addition of this requirement is important as it aims to enhance transparency and fairness in the electoral process, helping to prevent any confusion for individuals facing challenges to their voter registration status.
