Plain-language change summary

The recent amendments to SB 3548 have added specific notification requirements for natural gas leaks that occur near Sole Source Aquifers. Operators of affected natural gas storage fields must now inform local government entities, emergency service agencies, and water supply operators immediately, and later notify nearby residents and businesses as soon as possible. This change matters because it ensures that those who could be affected by a natural gas leak are quickly informed, allowing them to take necessary precautions to protect their health and safety.
