What changed in the latest version
13 added · 13 removedPlain-language change summary
The new version of HB 2966 updates language concerning pension contributions, specifically changing the term from "salary" to "reported earnings." This change clarifies the rules around contributions from municipalities regarding pension calculations, and it is intended to apply retroactively, starting from January 1, 2012. Additionally, it sets a new eligibility requirement for trustees of the pension fund, ensuring that only those with a qualifying level of service credit can serve, rather than the previous minimum of 8 years. These updates are significant as they help ensure proper funding and governance of the pension system.
