Plain-language change summary

The amendment to HB 2721, now called Charlie's Law, specifically adds requirements for health insurance coverage related to post-mastectomy care. This change ensures that health benefits programs comply with various sections of the Illinois Insurance Code, which aim to improve coverage for health treatments needed after mastectomy procedures. By clearly defining these coverage requirements, the law helps protect patients from unexpected medical costs and ensures they receive necessary care, thereby promoting better health outcomes.
