The recent amendments to SB 2854 change the gender-specific terms "chairman" and "committeeman" to more inclusive language, using "chairperson" and "committeeperson" instead. This change is significant as it reflects a move towards gender neutrality in legislative language, making it more inclusive for all individuals serving in these roles. The goal is to ensure that the language used in the Election Code is modern and representative of a diverse population.
