Plain-language change summary

The changes made to Bill HB 4821 include the addition of a provision that specifies if federal rules or guidance require the state to cover costs related to restrictions on coverage for treating stage 4 advanced cancer, the state will not be responsible for those costs. This amendment clarifies the state's obligations under the Affordable Care Act, particularly in relation to health insurance coverage for severe illnesses. This is important because it could impact how much the state needs to allocate for healthcare funding if federal requirements change, which could affect patients needing critical treatment.
