The revised version of Bill SB 1805 now establishes a tighter timeline, requiring the Illinois Gaming Board to submit its annual report by March 1 instead of May 31. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of including veterans in ownership and employment within the gambling industry, pushing for a good faith affirmative action plan for applicants that details efforts to recruit and train veterans. This change is significant as it aims to enhance opportunities for veterans in the gambling sector, ensuring that businesses owned by veterans receive a fair chance and that the state can better track this progress annually.
