Plain-language change summary

The bill SB 267 has been amended to focus solely on establishing U.S. Air Force license plates for eligible residents in Illinois while removing references to the Historic Preservation Agency Act, which is no longer relevant to this legislation. The amendment clarifies the eligibility, design, and use of these special plates, allowing them to be issued as vanity or personalized plates without the requirement to include the "Land Of Lincoln" designation. This change matters because it simplifies the process for honoring those who served in the U.S. Air Force, making it easier for individuals to obtain these plates and showcase their service.
