The recent amendments to SB 771 update the Audiology Practice Act by adding new sections that clarify the roles and responsibilities of audiologists, including the procedures they can perform. These changes are important as they expand the scope of practice to include nonmedical methods for screening and treating hearing and vestibular disorders, which may lead to improved patient care. Additionally, the bill extends the expiration date for the Act, providing stability and continuity for audiology practice in Illinois. This allows licensed professionals to continue their work without interruption until at least 2028.
