Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill SB 928 introduces new requirements for unit owners who lease their properties. Now, unit owners must provide a copy of their signed lease (or a memorandum for oral leases) to the community association within 10 days after signing or by the date the tenant moves in. This change aims to enhance transparency and ensure that associations are aware of who is living in the units, which can help maintain order and compliance with community rules. Additionally, the bill clarifies that among multiple owners of a single unit, only one can serve on the board at a time, preventing conflicts of interest.
