In the updated version of Bill SB 2885, the threshold for state banks to qualify for a minimum of three directors has been raised from $20 million to $50 million in assets. Additionally, the bill now explicitly extends exemptions from certain loan and investment limits to include U.S. government entities and corporations wholly owned by the U.S. These changes are significant because they make it easier for larger, established banks to operate with fewer directors and provide broader flexibility in financial dealings with government entities.
