The recent changes to Bill SB 652 reduce the maximum tax credits available each fiscal year from $50 million to $20 million. This lower cap aims to ensure more sustainable funding for qualified equity investments, which can better support economic development without overwhelming the state's budget. Additionally, the timeline for allocation of these investments remains unchanged, ensuring that planned funding continues as scheduled. This adjustment is important as it promotes fiscal responsibility while still supporting growth initiatives.
