Plain-language change summary

The changes made to HB 3371 include a new requirement for school personnel to receive training related to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and updates to definitions around domestic and sexual violence. The bill now stipulates that suicide awareness training must last at least two hours, and it allows the State Board of Education to incorporate this training into ongoing professional development. This matters because it promotes better understanding and support for students regarding sensitive health issues and ensures that school staff are more equipped to address these important topics in a timely and effective manner.
