Plain-language change summary

The recent changes in HB 3003 clarify that Board members will not receive any compensation or reimbursement for expenses unless funds become available, contrasting with the earlier version that allowed for reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses. Additionally, the deadline for the Board to make its recommendations to the Department has been removed, which may provide the Board more flexibility in their decision-making process. These changes are significant because they tighten financial guidelines for board operations and could impact the timing and efficiency of grant funding for childhood cancer research.
