What changed in the latest version
41 added · 41 removedPlain-language change summary
The amendments to SB 338 updated definitions related to the Cigarette Tax Act, specifically in how a "cigarette" is defined. The revised language makes it clear that any roll for smoking made with tobacco—regardless of flavoring or wrapper material—will still be classified as a cigarette. This matters because it ensures that all forms of tobacco rolls are consistently taxed, which may help prevent loopholes and promote fairer tax enforcement. Additionally, a technical change was made to the Property Tax Code concerning the delivery of property valuation statements.
