Plain-language change summary

The amended version of Bill SB 2778 clarifies the deadlines for tax collectors to apply for judgments and orders of sale for delinquent taxes. Specifically, it sets fixed deadlines for tax years 2012 through 2015 and establishes a uniform deadline of 90 days after the second installment due date for tax year 2016 and beyond, making the process more predictable. This change is important because having clear and consistent deadlines helps property owners understand their responsibilities, potentially improving compliance and reducing confusion about tax obligations.
