The amendments to HB 530 provide updates to the Hearing Instrument Consumer Protection Act by clarifying definitions and ensuring that key terms are understood in the context of the law. Specifically, it defines important roles such as "Licensed Audiologist" and "National Board Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist." These changes are important because they help to ensure that consumers are well-informed about who is qualified to assist them with hearing instruments, which can lead to better health outcomes.
