The recent amendments to Bill HB 1986 add specific definitions for "off-highway motorcycles" and "recreational off-highway vehicles," which clarifies what types of vehicles are addressed by this law. Additionally, the bill now restricts the operation of these vehicles to streets with speed limits of 35 miles per hour or lower, while still allowing them to cross busier roads at intersections. These changes are important because they establish clearer rules for where these vehicles can be used, ensuring public safety while allowing for more recreational use on appropriate roadways.
