Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 1549 adds a section stating that the bill will take effect as soon as it becomes law. It removes a previous section that provided legal protection from civil liability for individuals using automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in emergencies, as long as they were trained properly. This change is significant because without that liability protection, fewer people might be willing to use AEDs in emergencies, potentially putting lives at risk.
