The updated version of Bill HB 1161 adds a provision that allows for the prosecution of certain sexual offenses against minors to occur at any time, regardless of when the crime took place. This change is significant because it can help ensure that justice can be pursued for victims who may come forward long after the offense due to various factors like trauma or fear. The amendment aims to strengthen protections for children and hold offenders accountable, no matter when the abuse was committed.
