The recent amendment to Bill HB 2 has removed a requirement for the Attorney General to be given the opportunity to present oral arguments during hearings about proposed utility rates and regulations. Instead, the revised bill specifies that the Commission must hold oral arguments if requested by any party involved in the proceedings. This change matters because it could potentially streamline the process for utility rate cases while also ensuring that all interested parties have a chance to express their views before a final decision is made.
