Plain-language change summary

The recent amendment to Bill SB 774 updates the definitions related to assisted living and shared housing to clarify the types of services offered in these establishments. Specifically, it emphasizes that assisted living facilities should operate like a resident's own home, providing essential daily living support and healthcare services around the clock. This change matters because it aims to enhance the quality of care and the living environment for older adults, ensuring they receive the support they need in a more home-like setting.
