Plain-language change summary

The amendments to Bill SB 423 make two key changes. First, they clarify the conditions that must be met during parole or mandatory supervised release, including prohibiting firearm possession and requiring individuals to check in with their parole officer. Second, there's a technical change to the title of the Drug Paraphernalia Control Act for accuracy. These changes matter because they aim to enhance oversight during parole, potentially leading to better public safety, while ensuring that legislation remains clear and well-defined.
