Plain-language change summary

The amended bill now includes a new section that allows the Sangamon County Board to establish a volunteer rescue squad. This squad will assist local emergency services by locating missing persons and supporting firefighting efforts, while also providing benefits to volunteers who get injured or face other issues while on duty. Additionally, changes were made to the Community Mental Health Act by removing references to certain appointing officials for the mental health board, streamlining the process for forming this board. These changes are significant as they enhance community support and emergency response capabilities while also simplifying mental health governance.
