Plain-language change summary

The amended version of SB 2769 adds a requirement that the Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability will create a Veteran Internship Pilot Program specifically for honorably discharged veterans to gain experience in legislative internships. This program is intended to enhance opportunities for veterans and help them transition into civilian careers, especially within government roles. It sets clear participation criteria and outlines the program's duration and evaluation, ensuring that it can effectively serve its purpose before it ends in 2027. This matters because it provides valuable support to veterans, recognizing their service and helping them build skills for future employment.
