What changed in the latest version
26 added · 26 removedPlain-language change summary
The updated version of SB 86 includes new protections and information requirements specifically for cosigners of private educational loans, in addition to borrowers. This amendment ensures that cosigners receive important information, such as their rights, the process for releasing them from the loan, and what happens if the borrower or cosigner faces financial difficulties like bankruptcy or disability. These changes are significant as they enhance transparency and support for both borrowers and their cosigners, making it easier for individuals to understand their responsibilities and rights throughout the loan process.
