Plain-language change summary

The updated version of Bill HB 2846 includes additional details about how certain pediatric neuropsychiatric disorders related to streptococcal infections should be classified for billing purposes. It specifies that until there is a specific code from medical authorities, these disorders will be treated as autoimmune encephalitis. This change is important because it ensures that children with these disorders can receive appropriate insurance coverage without being denied based on their diagnosis. Additionally, it protects access to treatment by clarifying how these conditions are categorized in the healthcare system.
